Aspirants have to participate in NEET UG 2023 counselling in order to get admission in medical or dental colleges in India. In the NEET UG 2023 counselling session, eligible candidates will have to register, fill in the choice of course and colleges and pay the fee. On the ground of the choices filled by the aspirants, NEET 2023 rank, seat availability and reservation, the seat will be allotted.

MCC’s NEET counselling 2023 will be held for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government colleges and 100% in deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS, AIIMS, JIPMER, and BSc Nursing programs on the grounds of NEET 2023. The NEET AIQ counselling process for 2023 will be divided into four rounds namely round 1, 2, mop up and stray vacancy.

NEET is the only entrance examination for admission to 99,313 MBBS, 27,698 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH, and 603 BVSc & AH seats, respectively in 542 and 313 medical and dental colleges. Be familiar with the NEET 2023 Counselling Scheme for 15% AIQ

The MCC will conduct four rounds of counselling: AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-up round, and stray vacancy round. Candidates who qualify as part of the All India Quota will be eligible based on their NEET results 2023, other than the Union Territory of J&K. If seats remain vacant after round 2 of NEET 2023 counselling in AIQ, they will be sent back to the states.

The AIQ for NEET Counselling in 2023 will include the following:

  • 15% MBBS/BDS Seats of States

  • 100% MBBS/BDS Seats of BHU

  • 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India

  • All India Quota of JIPMER (Puducherry/ Karaikal)

  • All India Quota seats of AMU/ DU/ VMMC/ ABVIMS

  • All India Quota Seats of Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia)

  • All India Quota Seats of ESIC

  • There will be four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round.

  • Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round.

  • The Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by the respective Deemed Universities

AIIMS and JIPMER

  • There will be four rounds of counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round for 18 AIIMS.

  • Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round.

  • The Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by AIIMS

ESIC

  • ESIC 15% seats would be allotted through All India Quota (Round one & two).

  • The remaining 85% seats shall be treated as state quota seats and will be open to all the candidates participating in the Mop-up Round.

Central university/institute

  • There will be four rounds of NEET 2023 counselling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round.

  • Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2 and Mop-Up Round.

  • Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by the respective Central University/Institute.

 

About NEET Counselling 2023

On the basis of NEET 2023 results, admissions to MBBS/BDS courses under AIQ, deemed universities, and ESIC/AFMS colleges in the country are decided by the MCC NEET 2023 counselling process. The NEET exam qualifying is a requirement for admission to these medical courses. There are two types of NTA NEET counselling: All India and State counselling. The following seats are included in NEET UG counselling

  1. MCC counselling process for All India Quota seats: The AIQ NEET 2023 counselling process is the only method of admission to 15% of seats in all government medical and dental colleges, all seats at deemed universities and central universities, and all seats at Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and the Armed force medical college (AFMC) including Delhi University (DU), BHUAMU, and AIIMS & JIPMER . As of NEET counselling 2023 forward, Jammu & Kashmir candidates are included in the 15 percent All India Quota seats counselling process.

 
  1. State Quota seats for NEET UG counselling: Admissions to 85% of seats from government colleges and all seats from private unaided/aided minority/non-minority medical/dental colleges in the state will be done through state NEET counselling 2023.

NEET counselling 2023: Eligibility criteria

  • Candidates who will qualify for the NEET will be eligible to apply for NEET 2023 counselling.

  • Jammu and Kashmir candidates will also be eligible to participate in All India NEET counselling.

  • Those who will register for NEET 2023 counselling on the MCC website.

  • The AIQ counselling for Deemed Universities will be open to all NEET-qualified candidates.

Central University Eligibility Criteria for the NEET Counselling 2023

1) Delhi University (LHMC, UCMS, MAMC): – 15% seats for All India Quota & 85% institutional quota seats for candidates who have passed their 10+2 in Delhi.

2) Aligarh Muslim University (AMU):- 50% Institutional reservation for the AMU school candidates studying there for the last 3 years. Rest of the 50% of seats to All India candidates.

3) BHU:- Open to All India candidates

4) Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi: 3 BDS seats under the internal quota of JMI and 47 seats are open to All India quota candidates. Students who have passed their 10+ 2 from Jamia Schools can apply for an internal quota.

5) VMMC & SJH: 15% seats for All India and rest as Institute Quota for students who have passed their 10+2 from Delhi.

NEET 2023 Counselling Process

MCC will conduct NEET-UG 2023 counselling for AIQ in four rounds, including a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round. Following the completion of Round 2, the remaining seats will be filled in a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round by the MCC. Steps to be taken include:

Step 1: Complete the MCC NEET registration process, including payment.

Step 2: NEET 2023 counselling choice filling and locking

Step 3: Round 1 seat allotment and result announcement

Step 4: Reporting to the allotted Medical/Dental College (option for free entry/exit)

Step 5: Round 2 net vacant seats are published.

Step 6: NEET counselling round 2 registration (not necessary for already registered candidates) and fresh choice filling for NEET counselling round 2

Step 7: Round 2 of seat allocation (exit with forfeiture of security amount option available)

Step 8: Reporting to medical/dental colleges/institutions in preparation for round 2 (candidates once joined the allotted seat are not allowed to vacate the seat).

Step 1: NEET counselling registration

Qualified and eligible candidates need to register at mcc.nic.in. Applicants must fill out their NEET roll number, registration number, name, mother’s name, and date of birth. Next, pay the NEET counselling fee and security fee online with a credit card or debit card.

Step 2: Filling in choices for NEET 2023 counselling

Applicants must make a dummy sheet and enter their dream college choices. They can use the NEET college predictor if they want to know their chance of getting into college based on past data. For the NEET counselling process in 2023, they will be able to choose from this list of choices.

Step 3 :NEET 2023 Seat Allotment

Candidates must log in and download their seat allotment letters as soon as they are released. A free exit is available in the first round, while a forfeiture exit is available in the second round.

Step 4: Reporting to the Allotted College

Upon receiving an allotment of seats, a candidate must report to the designated college to complete the admissions processes. Reporting or joining during the first round is not mandatory. Those wishing to take a seat or upgrade must join and report. Seat allocation must be followed by reporting and joining in the second round unless candidates are willing to forfeit their security deposit by opting out. When reporting to the assigned college, candidates must present the originals of the specified documents.

Which documents are needed for NEET counselling 2023?

  • NEET 2023 Admit Card

  • NEET Scorecard or Rank Letter

  • Class 10 certificate and mark sheet (for date of birth)

  • Class 12 certificate and mark sheet

  • ID proof (Aadhar/PAN Card/Driving License/Passport)

  • Eight passport size photographs

  • Provisional Allotment Letter

  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)

  • PwD Certificate (if applicable)

NRI/ OCI candidates appearing for Deemed Universities must submit the following documents

  • Passport copy of sponsored, embassy certificate

  • Sponsorship affidavit (stating that sponsorer is ready to bear the expenses for the whole duration of study)

  • Relationship Affidavit (Relation of Candidate with the sponsorer)

NEET Counselling 2023 - What is free exit? What is the exit with forfeiture?

Free Exit (only for round 1) – A candidate assigned a seat in round 1 who does not join/report to the college to which they have been assigned would not be penalised (the security deposit would not be forfeited). Candidates will be eligible for further rounds.

Exit with forfeiture – If a candidate is offered a seat in round 2 but does not intend to take the seat, they can still exit with forfeiture (losing the security amount deposited) within the period given.

Candidates joining the allotted seat in the second round will not be eligible to resign/surrender their seats and will not be permitted to participate in state counselling either.

NEET 2023 Counselling for Deemed/Central Universities/Central Institutes

Step 1: Register for the mop-up round again (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

Step 2: Filling and locking your choices

Step 3: Mop-Up Round Seat Allocation for NEET 2023 counselling.

Step 4: Publication of the Results

Step 5: Reporting to the Medical/Dental College of your choice

Step 6: A list of ten times (of the registered candidates) of a number of stray vacancies to be provided to Deemed / Central Universities in strict order of merit to be exhausted.

Step 7: Deemed/Central Universities will conduct the last stray vacancy round (There will be no Fresh Registration of candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
